Page Finish!

Hey guys I'm here with another page finish!  Took a while but school's been busy and we spent the Memorial Day weekend in Vegas then had to come home straight to a convention near Disneyland so we went there for 2 days.  I've made it up this weekend though and have knocked the 28th page off my list.

If you noticed the couple of missing stitches I seem to have lost one of my bobbins I need so I'll have to stop by Michaels and grab more.  I have a sneaking suspicion that kitty Mocha was involved.

Did you notice my cute new minder?  He'll be switching for another now that I've finished the page.

Hello everyone and welcome to my GG post!  GG is run by the lovely jo of serendipitous stitching.  It's a chance for us to post about stuff we've stitches that were gifts or are going to be gifts.  

I'm still chugging along on paradise but haven't had hardly any progress because I was working on the HAED challenge.  I'm done with it but just finished like 2 days ago.  I've done some of the letters of the next page and am working on the outlines now but forgot to take a pic lol.

Anyway last time I was here:

For the top words I finished feel and for the bottom I have spir of spirit.

As for the HAED challenge I worked on Celtic wolf and finished a page of it.  This is the left side of his nose.

 Surprisingly there's been very little black so far.  A couple of stitches in his nose and down by the left corner.  I made a cool video of every color after I put them in.  But I can't post it from here.

New Stash and HAED Challenge

Hi everyone just a short post today!  I've abandoned paradise for a short while while I work on finishing the HAED challenge on their Facebook page.  The challenge is to do a page of a pattern (at least 7,300 stitches) and do it cross country.  Mine rings in at barely 7,300 so in safe but I was worried when I recounted after doing 5 colors.  I'm not sure how many colors are on this page but I'm only about half done.  I'm going to do a video slideshow of each color after I finish it.  But here it is now:

This is his nose.  As a reminder I'm doing Brigid Ashwood's Celtic wolf that only, I think, 20 people own the pattern.  I got it with her calendar as a Kickstarter she was doing.  

I also got a new chart :). I know I don't need anymore but meh that's what the stitching world is all about!

Nic over at obsessive stitcher in her last post introduced me to charting creations where I found this beautiful piece:

I just fell in love with the the colors and the castle and the glow of her dress.  I held off a day before buying while I asked myself if I really needed it but I kept fantasizing about it so she became mine. I'm glad I waited though because they're having a sale!  There's a cool dragon I want too but I'll be good :)

Quick New Update!

Hi everyone I'm here with just a quick update to show you some new stash and a new addition to our family!  First up was my goodies from the HAED sale.  I bought the four charts that are not Harry Potter but are close ;)

I still don't know what fabric I'll do them on or how I'll dye it but I have time.  Second off we brought home a new kitten from the pound yesterday!  Meet Mocha :)

She's very energetic and was the last of her litter to be taken.  We think it's because she's so lively and still in the biting stage.  They had us thinking she wouldn't settle down but she's currently sleeping under our bed at the moment and has sat on the couch with us for a few hours.  She's very playful and I think we wore her out lol.  She didn't let us get much sleep last night but I'm hoping tonight is different.  Shes 10 weeks old they think.

Finally!

Hello again everyone!  I'm back with another post and page finish!  It feels like it took forever but here it is!

What took so long?  In my last post I said I'd update you all so I'll try to keep it short but I did a lot!

First of all we finished setting up our office/craft room.  

I have another desk chair on the other side of the table now and my cross stitch stand is there.  Along with all of my floss and 2 computers (one for stitching and I watch movies on my old one).  So my desk (on the left) is a mess lol.  Oh well that's why hubby has his own ;). The only thing left to do is to put a lightbulb in the lamp and plug it in.

Over spring break we went to 3 places.  First off was St. Louis over the weekend. We went to visit his best friend and her husband and they took us up in the arch:

The way into the arch was a tiny 4'x5' elevator with 5 people sitting in it.  My claustrophobia might have got the better of me if not for the Glass doors to see into the arch.  

And then they took us to this insane place called city museum.  Basically it's a 10 story building where they used recycled city materials to build a giant jungle gym with little holes and tunnels that you have no idea where they go.    They could lead to a slide or to another tunnel or up in the ceiling.  There was a hidden slide that was really steep we found after going up some stairs that lead to a basement room where the only way out was a super narrow (as in the walls touch you front and back) wall fissure or through a tunnel that you had to crawl on your hands and knees with your back almost touching the ceiling.  It was insanely fun but definitely caused my claustrophobia to kick in worse.  They don't have naps and basically tell you they're not responsible if you die.  There's also a huge 10 story slide...if you can find it!  It was fun but it's a spiral so I kept sticking to the sides and couldn't go very fast.  In between all of the insanity was art pieces and fish tanks.  Definitely check out some YouTube videos on it because it's nuts!

After that hubby left for home and I went on to Colorado.  It was my spring break from work so I had time to kill.

 I mainly saw friends but I also went blonde!

 The main purpose was to help my mom bring my niece and nephews back to California to go to Disneyland.

Airport trip:

It was the little one's first time :)

My two cousins came on a later flight and we all had a great time!  My birthday was that Saturday so they all helped me celebrate :)

My mother in law got me a millennium frame for my birthday as well so I hope it comes before September!  I'm going to a stitching retreat then :). We had a ton of fun and the youngest was a lot better behaved than we thought he would be.  He was adorable too he got so excited!  Every ride was "I wan(na) go again".  My moms already planning to bring them out again next May.

I got a cold right after the trip probably from being so exhausted and am finally starting to feel myself.  I think it mixed with allergies too but meh.
