Page Finish and a New Pattern

I've got a lot of stuff this week so let's get to it.  First off I finished a page of Halloween blue which means only one more page to go.  The page that's left is only about 2/3 of a page so it should go quickly.  It's almost all black though so it'll be a little boring but easier.
There's two ghosts on the bottom right but other than a little more sky and the ghosts, everything else is black.

I also picked up a new chart which is my first large chart.  I got Morski's Magical World from Tilton Crafts.
I saw it and fell in love with it since I love books.  I'm probably going to stitch it 1 over 1 on 32ct Storm linen from Stephanie's fabbys.  I haven't totally decided on color since there will be about an inch of border around the stitching but we'll see.
I haven't ordered it yet because of the move I don't want it sent to my old address do ill order it sometime this week and have it sent to the new address.  I got about a third of the threads I need.  I just need a few of the ones my store was out of and I'll be ready to make a decent start.
We're moving this week so I probably won't have much progress in the next post but we'll see how the move goes.

Until next time,
May the stitch be with you

A Finish and Some Progress!

Hi everyone I know it's been a while since my last post but I got a lot done in that time.  I finished my friend's project last night but wanted to get the wrinkles out before I got pictures.  I couldn't be happier that it's done as now I can give it to him and work on something fun for me.  The metallic thread was a pain and I don't know if if ever use it again.  I have some kreniks in my peacock project but I can already tell those will be easier to stitch with.  Enough talking on with the pictures!

I messed up a bit with the placement of the sapphire but I don't think it's as noticeable in person.  I also ran out of gold thread and they were out at my local stores last time I checked so I improvised with the top.  The Hyrule Crest is supposed to be all gold but I actually like the change.  Sorry for the bad photo but I'll take more after I frame it.  The pins in the fabric are what I use to get the wrinkles out.  Just a bulletin board, some pins and a spray bottle.

Since I finished yesterday I also got some more work in on Halloween blue.
Sorry again for the bad pic it's hanging off of the arm of my couch and I just now realized how skewed it is.  But I got about 400 stitches in it today including eyes and a smile.  This is a fairly quick stitch since it's mostly solid color blocks but has quite a bit of confetti around the moon.  I can't decide what color I'll do after blue.  What do you guys like next?

In my personal life we have some moving to do.  Our landlord told us at the beginning of the month we have to be out by the first so he can move in.  We negotiated to the 6th and found a place across the street.  We used to live there before here but they've updated since then.  I've also gone from a brunette to a red head.  I'm still getting used to it but I like it.  Our Europe trip is also coming up right after the move and my dad is coming to town right after that and he's bringing my niece and nephew for fun at the parks.  I'll keep you guys updated!

May the stitches be ever in your favor!

Progress and a new color to show!

I got quite a lot of stitching done since my last post.  I have the entire gold part of the next jewel done and have started to put in the beginnings of the ruby.  The rest of this should be a quick stitch.  The red seems to be easier to handle than the gold but that could all be in my mind.

I feel like I'm finally getting somewhere with this project and I can only hope the rest goes by quickly too.  This isn't my favorite project to stitch and I'll be happy when it's done and I can give it to the recipient.

And I'm thrilled to announce I was one of the winner's on giveaway on Mel's blog and I'm excited to stitch them.  They're really cute Mill Hill projects.

I'll have to start the autumn one soon so I can display it.  Thanks Mel!

Until next time,
Stitch long and prosper!

A Jeweled Finish!

I finally got one of the jewels of my Legend of Zelda project done.  It's the Kokiri Emerald from Ocarina of Time and it's done in all metallics.  I'm going to do the other two jewels first to see how they look before I decide if/how I'm going to add back stitching.  More than likely I will but can't decide if I want to use black or darker colors of the base.
It's hard to see in the pic but it's very shimmery.  I just ordered a cork board to use to straighten out my projects when they're finished so that wrinkle in the bottom will disappear.  I also bought a binder and trading card protector sheets to organize my floss which I'm excited to get.  Next up is the Goron Ruby which is a triangular shape.  After that will be the Zora Sapphire which is broken up into 3 sections.  Hard to explain the design but I don't have any pics at the moment.

Anyway moving on we found out that we cannot renew our lease at the end of the month like we thought we could so we basically have 20 days at this point to find a place and move.  I'm hoping we can find some free boxes from the kids that are moving for school soon but with our work schedules we can't even start looking at places until Wednesday.

I also got a slight promotion at work.  Basically something I used to have, and then lost but got back again, which I start tomorrow.  I get to train people to do my job.  They promoted some other people who didn't do it before and they got a day of training which I couldn't do because of my schedule. I haven't been up front in a while but I'm training someone I work with so it should be easy since he already knows the system.

That's all for now!
But I'll be there to stitch as the world falls down (fave movie ever)

Progress and some vacation pics

I got some stitching done but not a lot.  My mother-in-law has been in town and so it's been going from one theme park to another for the most part.  The only stitching time I've gotten in has been in the car ride on the way to Tampa for an anniversary baseball game.
This is about a third of the first of 3 jewels.  It's hard to see but the thread is all metallic.  Sorry I don't have more progress but I did get to go to the new harry potter diagon alley that opened a few weeks ago at universal.  For any Harry potter fan you'll love it.

That's my hubby in the last pic ;).  We also got a chance to see the beach and our team won just like they did at our rehearsal "dinner" (instead of dinner we did hot dogs and beer at the game).

That's all for now I'll update you soon!

C'mon stitch happy!
