SFS April Update

Hello everyone!  I've made my first purchases of the year!  But I stayed under budget so yay me!  HAED is having another sale so I may purchase another chart but we'll see.

First off:

April Allotment: $25
Carryover: $75
Spent: $20.25
Total left: $79.75

What did I spend it on?

Most of you have seen Rapunzel
She was $14.25 during the HAED sale but I also got a Disney pattern from Etsy
It was only $6 because it was on sale so I figured why not?  I'm thinking of dyeing my fabric pink and purple for this one but haven't bought any yet.  The only thing I don't like about this pattern is that it doesn't have Brave or Princess and the Frog.  If I can find a way to substitute them in I will put them in the place of brother bear on the bottom.

I'm Facebooked Shelley the owner of Tilton Crafts about charting up a picture from one of her artists.

The idea got around 70 likes so I'm assuming other people would like to see it too lol.  If she does I'll get this and the Hocus Pocus one.

I also got the floss and fabric for Rapunzel but had a gift card from Christmas so it doesn't count for SFS.

Such pretty colors!

Well that's all for now but here's an update on Paradise:

Thanks for looking in see you all soon with my next page finish!

Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun, Please Shine Down on Me

Well it took some hard work but I have a bit to show you all :). First of all I'm really happy with how things turned out.  As it happens I didn't count over to the E as I thought I had plenty of room from the last page.  My E ended up at the very edge of the page border.

Kind of hard to see but I'm so glad I didn't have to frog.  I couldn't have just moved it because it would have thrown the entire piece off.  So lesson learned: don't just assume always count!

Moving on, any guesses what the title is about?  We have sun!
It's very difficult to see as its only like 5 stitches but it's the very last row under the E.  It's a beige color.  But with that we have another word done and another half a page.
Here's the piece so far.  This time I did count so I know I'll have room for the S.  I was hoping to get that stitched tonight but I only had around 4 hours of sleep last night so I'm cuddling up in bed with Harry Potter.  Unfortunately I'm on the 5th.  I hate Umbridge so this is my least favorite book.  Oh well I'll enjoy the end.

See you next time!

Gifted Gourgeousness April

Hey everyone I'm back again for gifted gorgeousness hosted by serendipitous stitching!  In this SAL we have to stitch on something we received as a gift or are gifting to someone else.  It is ten minutes til midnight.  I'm still chugging along on Paradise which will be a gift for my cousin for her wedding.  I have been stitching nonstop for almost 14 hours trying to get a page finish for this post and I just achieved it!!  I don't know what it was about this page but it seems like it took forever!  The next page we see 8 new colors!  Last time we were here:
Now we're here:
Quite a bit now that I'm looking at it.  I'm starting page 5 (which is my 7th page) but have a long way to go.  On the next page we see a bit of the sun!  I found my blog on google search when I looked up paradise the other day for a friend lol.  I was trying to find a pic of it to show her and ended up right on my blog.  Good to know I'm a top Google search!

I've taken a break from school as it wasn't going well and I was burning out but I'm getting back in the swing of it.  Turns out there were some grading errors.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yep it's my birthday today!  I'm turning 29 (ugh) and I'm all alone until my hubby gets off at 8.  Luckily I have some stitching to do.  I gridded my Rapunzel fabric last night and was going to start it today but then I'd have to switch the fabric on the scroll rods and that seems like a lot of work so I'm going to stitch on Paradise probably.  I won't be doing hardly any stitching at the moment because I enrolled in school again and found out that each month it takes me to do my classes will be an additional $100.  So I'm putting pretty much everything on hold so I can finish ASAP.  Then I have more money for stitching!  I have 5 classes but am focusing on composition right now.  I have 9 papers to write but so far I'm almost halfway through (only written 1 paper so far though) and have a 95% in the class.  Unfortunately I'm not very good at papers my only one I've written got a 71%.  So hopefully I'll do better now that I need to have sources.  No pics right now as I'll wait until I have something more substantial I just wanted to keep you all updated!

Until next time!

Rapunzel Fabric Dyed and Ready

So I took all of your ideas into account and gray and green were about half and half.  So what did I choose?

I went with gray mixed with a bit of dark purple.  The fabric is still pretty light as I didn't want it to overwhelm the darkness of the pattern.  And I thought the purple will pull out the purple of the pattern and the gray will pull out the black lace on her shoulder and in the bottom of her dress.

I was going for a storm cloudy look.  Since Rapunzel still has long hair I wanted the background to reflect that.  She hasn't been rescued yet and is stuck in her tower which is kind'be the storm before her happy ending.  Made sense to me lol.

I thank you guys for all of your input it made the decision easier!  I'm really fighting gridding my fabric now because I need to finish paradise!
