Big Update!

Hi everyone I'm here with another update and it's a big one!  I've got 24 more colors in and the sky is officially finished!  I got quite a bit of ocean in as well.  I already updated my progress bar but I got another 4 rows of ten done.  A lot more than that but I only count a row when it's complete.  Enough talking now pictures!

Now:

Whew that's a lot of pictures!  I didn't take many on my cruise so I won't post but I had fun!  This weekend I'll be at a stitching retreat so hopefully more pics soon!

Thanks for stopping by I'll see you all next time!

Happy Birthday Jo! Birthday Blog Hop

Hi again!  Jo is having a blog hop all about her birthday!  Here's what I got:

1982 - Jo was 16.  Over the summer, Jo got her first job - Bedmaking at the local holiday camp with her best friend.  Not the ideal job for two asthmatic teenagers with a dust allergy!  But it paid £2.40 for three hours work which was the same as a paper-round paid for every day and twice on a Friday.  Jo also dated her first boyfriend, this lasted about as long as her job did!  Summer only and then back to school for her exam year.  Jo was making more friends out of school thanks to her family moving house and discovering a love of rock music which was to define the rest of her life.

Well first off I wasn't born quite yet that year (but hubby was ;)).  When I turned 16 I had a surprise  birthday party that my mom threw for me.  Actually I had 3 parties!  I got my driver's license and a new light purple Plymouth Neon.  I think that's the only time I saw that color of car ever was the '95 Lilac Neon.  I also had my first job (to pay for the car and the insurance) where I worked at a roller skating rink selling concessions.  One of my worst jobs ever but one of my best quitting stories :)  A little risque for here though!

Now Jo loves everything Halloween so these are two things I've stitched that I think she would like :)

September GG!

Hi everyone welcome back to another Gifted Gorgeousness hosted by the lovely Jo from Serendipitous Stitching.  GG is our chance to show off projects intended as gifts or using things we have been gifted.  I'm working on Paradise per usual and have quite a bit more progress.

Here is last time:

And the next several colors.  11 to be exact :)

So as you can see I filled in quite a bit of ocean next to "fly" as well as a good part of the sky.  My next color will fill in most of the sky to the cloud above "the".  I'm about halfway toward the top row of pages being finished.

I don't think it'll be done by the end of the month but I'll be taking it to the retreat.  If I don't have it done by the end of next month then I might cry lol.  But a lot of it depends on this weekend.  I'm hoping to stay home but hubby doesn't know if we're doing anything.  There's a little carnival we might go to but that probably wouldn't take more than a couple of hours.

I made more progress on Halloween Green.  I stitch it while I'm at lunch during student teaching and the kids are really interested in it.  I even have one girl who was asking where she could go to start one!

Speaking of which, school is going well for the moment.  I really like my host teacher and I get to observe 5th grade which I was hoping for.  I've already taught a mini lesson on Harry Potter which was fun.  I have 6 more days to observe and I'll be done with it in mid-November.  Then I start my student teaching in January.

But for now I'm off to hit the hay.  I feel like I can't catch up on sleep no matter what time I go to bed so I'm really glad tomorrow is Friday.  I'm hoping tomorrow is like last Friday where I had no students.  I can't stitch in my off time but I can watch flosstube while I do math lol. Thanks to everybody who leaves comments and to all of my readers.  I try to reply to all of the comments that are given by readers who are not no-reply emails.  If you're not a no-reply commenter and I don't reply to you let me know because there may be a glitch. You guys are awesome thanks for sticking with me through the journey!

More Colors!!

Hey everyone welcome back!  I'm happy to say I have now finished both corners.  I'm not sure how many colors I've done but let's find out!

Here's last time:

Then I added the dark blue that brought me to the bottom corner:

Sorry it's washed out I tried to take it in direct sun.  Then I added another dark blue that filled in the top corner and some mountains:

After that was some light blue starting again on the left:

Then there was another light blue:

This picture probably is the most true to the colors in real life.

After that there was yet another light blue:

Then came a sky blue color which is at the top although it doesn't look like it but filled in a lot of the sea:

Finally came a very interesting color.  The color is 159 and is supposed to be blue gray.  It looks blue gray on the skein and bobbin but comes out pinkish.  Very odd.  But here is is:

The next color will be lagoon blue and there's a lot of it.

So counting up that's 7 colors and my progress bar is updated to show I'm 84% done.  Not bad for 10 days.  My dad was in town so I wasn't able to stitch a ton.  On the plus side it looks like my school stuff is working out so yay for that!  I leave on a cruise in 2 weeks but I don't think paradise will be done and I'm not taking it with me.  But I have the frame all ready to go I just hope it will fit right.  It's a floater frame so we'll see.

I will be taking Halloween Green and Swirling Peacock on the cruise with me.  I started some of the green on Halloween but forgot to take a picture.  Hopefully next time I can show it 😀

At the end of the month I'm going to a stitching retreat all weekend so I'm hoping I can get paradise done then.

I also purchased another HAED.  This time it was Museum Shelf by Aimee Stewart.  I got the max color but not the supersize.

No clue when I'll start but I've been drooling over this one for a while.

Thanks for stopping by I'll see you next time!  I'll leave you with a pic of Mocha "helping" make the bed:
