A Winner and a Start

I'm happy to post that Linda Scott has won the giveaway.  I've already dyed it and it's washing right now.  I think it turned out really well.  I just need your address and I'll send it off.  Congrats and thanks for participating!

I've also started Magical World.  I don't have a ton of progress to show because I had to frog the entire beginning section which has a lot of confetti.  15 colors alone in the first 100 stitches.  I also lost one of the colors before I had even started and realized I didn't buy two of the colors I needed.  Oops.  So there's some blank spots.  I purchased them today though so I'll have the spots filled in soon.
I'm about halfway done with the first page column.  There's 32 pages total with 4 of the pages having only one column on each.  I'm liking this one so far and I'm hoping to get some more progress soon although this week I have family coming in so I know I won't be getting much done.

London was a blast!  I took around 1000 photos.  I'll only post a few of my favorites here.

Until next time,
TTFN!

A finish and vacation!

I'm happy to say Halloween Blue is done!  The black wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and my goal to have it done before my trip has been met.  I finished it last night and I'm currently sitting in the airport waiting for my European vacation! Enough talk on with the pics!

I brought all of my stuff to start on Magical World and a long flight but a lot of it will probably be sleeping.

After my last post I reached ten followers!  That means it's giveaway time!  The rules are: you must comment on this post saying you want to enter and you must be a follower.  The prize will be a piece of hand dyed fabric.  In your comment please tell me what count/kind of fabric you stitch on and which colors you want dyed (max of 3).  Keep in mind what colors mix well.  Good luck!

Until next time,
The hills are alive with the sound of stitching!

And a European Vacation quote:
Clark Griswold: There's Buckingham Palace, kids. That's where the Queen lives and works.
Audrey Griswold: Works? What does she do, Dad?
Clark Griswold: She queens... and vacuums.

Hand Dyed Fabric

Sorry about the wait we've been moving this past week.  I've got some things to show.  First I've discovered a new love.  I was looking a some hand dyed fabrics and the price plus shipping for a lot of them was pretty high.  Now I'm a pretty thrifty person so I looked up cost efficiency of making my own.  I decided I really wanted to try my hand at it so with some good coupons I gave it a go.

Last pic is with flash.  I think it turned out pretty well.  This is 32 count oyster linen with royal blue and sunshine yellow Tulip permanent dye.  I know everyone says to use Procyon dyes but I'm planning on using this to stitch on over my trip and couldn't wait for it to come.  I'm really happy with it and think I'm going to be dyeing all my fabric.  It's not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be.

Secondly I reached the bottom of Halloween Blue and finished two columns.

I'm close to a finish.  The next column will show us the beginnings of the ghosts.

Hopefully my next update will be a finish and a start.  I leave for Europe in 5 days and I'm so excited but also kind of nervous.  And I still have a ton of unpacking.  It took two full days until about midnight each day to move but hopefully unpacking will be easier.

Thanks for sticking with me and I love comments!
Until next time,
Stay classy stitchers!
